I worked on maps and analysis for the Palmdale to Los Angeles section of California High-Speed Rail during my time with Arup. My work inclouded constraints analysis in this section challnged by faults, mountains, and dense urban development.
I also provided data mangement for Texas High-Speed Rail including limits of disturbance mapping based on design drawings from several engineering disciplines.
FME is a powerful software for automating data management, analysis, and conversion. I have experience with FME on a variety of projects including California High-Speed Rail, Texas High-Speed Rail, Edmonton Light Rail, BART, resilience projects, and real estate portfolio management. I have used FME to analyze and convert a variety of data formats. CAD to GIS (and GIS to CAD) automation was my most used automation task with FME.
I have set up or assisted with the setup of mobile data collection for a variety of projects including NYC Green Infrastructure, subway station inspection, and bridge inspection. Data layers can be collected on a phone or mobile device and are synchronized to a master database. Electronic collection is faster overall than paper, while also reducing errors and redundancy.
I worked on the Onion Creek Flood Buyout program during my time at the City of Austin. My involvement included flood modeling, total station and GPS field surveys, representing the City at public meetings, and mapping.
I also performed preliminary engineering, survey, and mapping for potential buyout projects on Williamson Creek.
